CERAMICS AND NATURE course
WITH LÍDIA BOŠEVSKI
The Ceramics and Nature Course at Cerdeira Home For Creativity is an approach to ceramics through the five senses: a week of immersion in nature, creativity, and silence characterizes this course.
Observing and following our impulses, attracted by the most incredible details that nature offers us, awaken our creativity, our natural sense of harmony and aesthetics. Free of preconceptions and expectations, we create our ceramic pieces, being part of nature.
Walking through the mountains, we search not only for inspiration but also textures, tools, and materials. Back in the studio, we will investigate and test to select the raw material for the ceramic objects we want to create.
In the Ceramics and Nature Course, we will learn to look further afield to learn about the characteristics of our raw materials, nature and throughout the ceramic process until firing during the ceramic classes.
Participants have the opportunity to create their own collection of ceramic objects inspired by the learning and days of immersion in nature.
Lidia Boševski
Lidia graduated from the Higher School of Applied Arts in Zagreb (Croatia) in 1979. In the first years of her career, she developed an intense activity around textiles, combining batik with painting. Since 2002 her focus has been on ceramics and design. In her studio OWL, she has worked since 2005 in ceramics, researching materials and new approaches.
Natural forms and nature inspire her, so she gladly accepted the invitation to share her knowledge with us in Cerdeira.
Lidia Boševski, a native of Croatia, where she lives and works, has a vast curriculum of exhibitions, not only in her home country but also in Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, Poland, England, and Japan.

SCHEDULE:
May 17th: 4 pm to 7 pm
May 18th to May 23rd: 10 am to 6 pm
CONDITIONS
• Enrollments up to 2 months before the course start date.
• Special discount for our community members.
THE COURSE FEE INCLUDES:
• Integration in a small workgroup (from 6 to 10 participants)
• Training 6 hours a day, speaking in English and with support in Portuguese;
• Studio open 12 hours a day;
• Welcome dinner;
• Lunch on course days;
• All the materials needed for the course, including firings
• Free accommodation in our hostel during the course (upon availability). The hostel is equipped with a dormitory, kitchen, shared bathrooms, washing machine, towels, bed linen, and wi-fi;
• 10% discount on the base rate when booking an individual house (minimum of 2 nights). The base rate refers to a stay of 2 people and includes breakfast, equipped kitchen, towels, bed linen, and wi-fi.

CANCELLATION POLICY FOR COURSES AND WORKSHOPS
You may withdraw within 14 days of registration, paying the correspondent transfer fees. Following the EU consumer protection legislation, payments are not refunded past 14 days of registration. The payment will be fully reimbursed if the training cannot be held because of insufficient students.
Suppose the training is canceled by Cerdeira - Home For Creativity for reasons of significant force such as a pandemic, civil disorder, a natural catastrophe, medical or family issues of the teacher, and others beyond our control. In that case, Cerdeira will offer a voucher for a different workshop of your choice. The voucher is valid for two years.
