Cerdeira has been welcoming dozens of artists from all over the world. Since the beginning of the project, Cerdeira - Home for Creativity intends to bring more people to the central region of Portugal, by helping them learn and develop their creativity in an unique atmosphere only made possible by its wonderful natural surroundings.
It’s with immense pleasure that we see all these artists enjoying Cerdeira as much as we do. We also love seeing their finished works of art in first hand, knowing that they were - in some way - inspired by our beautiful village.

"I’m inspired by the human form and emotion. I enjoy using high contrast and geometric shapes in my work. Cerdeira has been the perfect place to recharge and make art. With it’s beautiful nature and kind people, I have felt inspired by the history of this special place. The environment is abundant with wildlife and has directly influenced my art practice. The three weeks I spent here painting and making ceramics I will cherish forever- Thanks Cerdeira!"

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Originally from Southern California, she currently lives in Portland, Oregon. With a BA in Art Practice, her greatest desire is to support the arts and bring people together to work as a community. She would love to open up a communal studio where people can learn, share, critique and grow. One of her biggest passions is pottery and sculpture, but there’s a chance you’ll find her drawing and painting in her time off. She loves to learn new things, explore new areas, and spend time with good people.

What is an Artist Residency?
Artists and professionals from other creative areas can stay and work on their projects elsewhere temporarily by participating in artist-in-residence programs and other artist residency opportunities. These opportunities offer conditions that are conducive to creativity and provide their guests proper working facilities, connections, audience, among other things. Cerdeira has several residency options where you can make the most our equipment, studios and support and also share ideas, knowledge and experiences with other artists in an unique environment.
